Catching Up

Oh man am I behind!  I went back to work and life at the Mohrmann House got busy X100!!  We have done lots and I have many pictures, but there is no way I can go back and out them all up, so for now, you get a little update on Jack.  He turned 4 months old on June 13.  Today he went to the dr for his check up and he is doing great!  16 lbs. 8 oz. and 26 inches long.  Henry and Benton continue to love him to pieces and are great helpers, most of the time.  I am going to try to do better about updating this summer.  It helps we got a new lap top!  Thanks for checking on our family.

7 weeks

Today our little Jack Thomas turned 7 weeks old.  How can that be possible?!?  This is the outfit that Jack was going to wear to Easter Sunday church, but 2 minutes before leaving the house, he spit up ALL over himself.  So, I put his "church clothes" as Ben calls this outfit, on him and did a little photo shoot.

This is my last week of maternity leave... I go back to work Monday April 8.  I will certainly miss this little guy!

Hospital Stay

Well the Mohrmann's have had a crazy last 36 hours!  Monday morning Benton wasn't feeling better, so I called his pediatrician, Dr. Z (who we LOVE by the way) and got a 10:40 am appointment for him.  After an exam, a negative strep test, and Ben's constant complaints about his tummy hurting, Dr. Z sent us to the ER where he could get fluids and be further evaluated.  It was clear he was dehydrated and Dr. Z wanted to be sure that was all and not his appendix or some infection.  G was at work but met us at the ER so he could take Henry and Jack.  We really didn't want Jack to have to be in the ER and at the hospital if he didn't have to.  I stayed with Ben.  He was given an IV, got blood taken, and fluids started.  The blood work showed no active infection (woohoo) but very low electrolyte and glucose levels.  Bottom line, he was dehydrated and needed to stay the night thanks to the virus he had that caused his throwing up and fever.

G came back with Henry and Jack and we got Benton settled in his room.  G stayed the night with Ben and I went back home with the other two.  Neither one of us got very much sleep last night.  But the good news is that this morning the blood work showed that Benton's levels were much better and Dr. Z gave us the green light to go home.  Everyone is ready for a good night sleep in their own beds!

I knew my baby boy wasn't feeling good. Poor Benny!

In the ER, waiting to see the doctor.  My sweet boy.

The first IV in his right hand, yesterday in the ER.  Early this morning, he pulled this IV out and they had to put another one into his left hand.

Somebody had fluids, medicine to help his upset tummy, and a popcycle and is starting to feel better.

Finally resting

This morning... smiles!!!  (Notice the IV is in his left hand now)

Heading HOME!  Hanging on to his balloon from the Sprandt's.

At home Jack is snoozing and Ben is hanging on the couch.

Henry was reading to Jack tonight.

 Somebody feels MUCH better.

Benton missed out on the egg hunt on Easter Sunday, so he had his own little egg hunt tonight in the living room.

 Somebody is happy!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!  Our Easter started off with us thinking Benton was all better, no fever and no throwing up.

All smiles and about to follow the candy trail to their baskets.

Thanks E. Bunny!

 New PJ's and shades!

What a practical bunny we have!

Henry and Jack all ready for church.  No Benton in this picture because our poor Benny was throwing up. :(  Gregg and Benton stayed home.

We saved half the eggs for him to hunt when he feels better.  I called the exchange and taked to a nurse about ways to get him to keep things down since everything, even water, is coming back up.  We are calling Dr. Z in the morning.

Friends & Eggs

After the mega egg hunt, Jack, Henry, and I met our friends the Oldani's and the Kimbrell's for lunch.  The Kimbrell's live in KC and were in town visiting family for the weekend.  We are SO glad we were able to meet up with them, but sad that G and Ben had to miss out!

When we got home, Ben was feeling a little better and Zee-Zee and NoNo came over to color eggs and decorate the bunny cake.  This year G made the bunny cake AND he was the master icer!  Check out the finished product below.
