Thursday March 25, still lots of pain, goes to see regular doctor, Dr. J who says they ruled out lots of things, take the pain meds and if it's not better in about a week, they he'd send G to a GI doctor. STILL in pain into Friday the 26th. We have a friend who is an ER doctor (at a different hospital than the one he was taken to on Wed.) and we went to Kevin's house Friday night for him to check G out. As soon as we walked in, both Kevin and Susie commented on how G looked dehydrated. Kevin thought maybe a blocked bowel since nothing had left that end since Wednesday. He told him to try laxatives and if not any better in the morning, to call him.
Friday night was horrible. G was up basically the entire night in pain. The laxatives did nothing in the morning, he threw up the liquid laxative we tried. I called Kevin, he said to take him to St. John's, that he would call ahead and let them know. The people at St. John's are WONDERFUL! We are so thankful for Kevin and all the great doctors and nurses there. G spent most of Saturday in the ER where they did another CT scan, gave him fluids, and decided it was indeed an obstructed bowel. He was admitted late that afternoon. I left the hospital around 6pm to go pick up the kids from Rae's house. Thank goodness she lives close and was able to help us out!
G didn't get to come home until Tuesday March 30. He spent 3 nights, 4 days at St. John's. He isn't 100% yet, but very much on the mend. I am SO thankful he is home! It was a long, had 3 nights without him....between working, the kids, and trying to be at the hospital, I was worn out! I don't know how single parents survive!
The kids were great for me while G was in the hospital. Rae was SUCH a big help too. All of my friends called to check on me and offered their help. My parents were fabulous, calling and making sure I was taking care of myself. Thank you to everyone! Thank you for praying for G and please continue to do so! He is getting better each day.
Little Benton sleeps with 5 blankets....receiving blankets and his blue blanket and he always has his head jammed into a corner of the crib.
