Dress to Impress

This week is National Lutheran Schools Week and today was Dress to Impress Day at school.  Henry and Ben sure got all dressed up!  They had a Special Person Breakfast this morning and Zee-Zee went as their special person.  Both Henry and Ben enjoyed having her with them for the special event.

35 - WOW

SO today is my 35th Birthday.  And just like 5 years ago when I turned 30, I am pregnant!!  Needless to say, the older you get, the less exciting birthdays become.  Henry and Ben were way more excited about it being my birthday, which is good.  Since Wednesdays are busy nights for us, we celebrated last night.  G made a delicious dinner and the kids cleaned up afterwards!  I just got to sit back and enjoy.  We even ate in the dining room, which we usually don't do when it's just the 4 of us.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday!  I will have to say, it wasn't too exciting, but that is okay with me.  I got to spend it with my 3 favorite guys!

Check out these great helpers!  I can't believe they are big enough to rinse off the dishes and put them in the dishwasher!

MLK Day

Since the kids and I didn't have school today, we got to spend the day together.  First we ran some errands, which included getting new goggles at Target.  Then we stopped by Build-A-Bear so that Henry could spend the gift card he got for his birthday from Uncle Max and Fallon.  He picked out a tiger whose name is Mr. Tiger!  We ate lunch at home and I got a wonderful surprise of a "cupcake" (flowers) from the Miller Family for my birthday.  We finished up the night with swim lessons and dinner at Subway.  It was a great day!

Pine Wood Derby - Round 1

Tonight Henry had his first Pine Wood Derby.  He and G worked VERY hard on his car.  Henry helped out a lot and the design was his idea.  Little did we know, he would come in second place overall for the pack, which means tonight was only Round 1!  February 8, he gets to race his car in the district derby.

The parents made cars to race for fun.... G made the one on the left, the Deathmobile from Animal House!  He didn't win any races, but everyone liked the design!

Soccer Awards

Tonight Ben had his soccer pizza party and awards from playing on St. Monica's Blue team in the fall.  He was so excited to get his first trophy!

Getting his trophy from one of his coaches

Not sure what kind of smile this is!  But he was very excited!!

The other Ben... his friend from church and school who was on the yellow team.

Jonah, another friend from church and school who was on the red team.  Maybe this spring they will all be on the same tball teams!!

Random

Here are a couple of random pictures from my phone:

Henry got a package the other day from Kristen, Aaron, Eli, and Adam (cousins in NC) and he is in heaven!  An angry birds hat!!  And another Watson book!!  Thanks Anson Family for thinking of our big 7 year old on his birthday!

Tonight was the first night of swim lessons for these 2 little fish. I was nervous because last spring was a bit of a challenge to get Ben in the water without tears.  I am happy to report they both did GREAT!  Henry is learning the front crawl and how to float on his back.  Ben got his head wet and was happy in his class!  WOOHOOO!

Here is Ben's second quarter writing sample from preschool.  I am SO proud of my little guy!  I still can't believe he is going to kindergarten in August.  How can that be!?!?

Nana & Papa

Nana and Papa have been here since Henry's birthday, January 1.  They stuck around to hang out with Henry and Ben while Mom and Dad had to return to work on January 2.  (Lucky Mohrmann boys don't return to school until the 7th!)  A good time was had by ALL 4 of them!  They did a fun thing each day and Henry and Ben were sad to see them leave this morning.  Thanks Nana & Papa!!
These pictures are from my Dad's phone.  They went to the Mills Mall one day and then the Science Center another day.

Henry is 7

Seven years ago today, January 1, we first saw this little guy....

Our Henry William Mohrmann
He weighed in at 8 lbs. 6 oz. It's SO hard to believe that was 7 years ago AND that our tiny little baby is looking like this now:

We started off New Year's and Henry's Birthday at Forest Park.  G ran in a 5K this morning and he finished 2nd in his age group.  He was the 6th overall finisher!  We thought he was the 7th overall finisher and Henry thought it was SO awesome his Dad was 7th overall on his 7th birthday, but we looked on line tonight and we miscounted as he was really 6th overall.  We didn't tell Henry. :)

After G's run, we came home and he took the kids sledding at the golf course by our house.  I stayed home and got lunch ready.  I didn't get any sledding pictures, but I did get this one before they left:

After sledding, Henry and G went to see a movie.  Ben didn't want to go, so he and I stayed home and we decorated Henry's birthday cake for his family party tonight. My parents got in this afternoon and Rae and Neen came over for dinner and to celebrate Henry turning 7.

I think Henry had a GREAT day because before bed tonight he told me it was his best birthday ever.  He enjoyed having all of his grandparents here to celebrate.  Thanks to Nana, Papa, Zee-Zee, and NoNo for helping to celebrate our little 7 year old!!
