Jack O' Lantern

Last night Henry got to carve a jack o' lantern....well, he got to watch his Daddy carve one! Henry decided what kind of face to make and thought the inside of the pumpkin was "EEWWWW." Ben enjoyed watching from his Bumbo seat and smiling lots at his big brother who got very excited when the jack o' lantern was lit. Henry & Ben are ready for Halloween tomorrow! They have a big night ahead of them, so let's hope they get some sleep tonight.

Fall Fun

This past weekend Henry & Ben had lots of fun! On Friday we went to Pumpkinland with Henry's school. Henry loved it! The kids got to play for about an hour, then we had a potluck dinner. On Saturday we went to a Halloween party at our friends the Kohrings. Henry was a bunny rabbit, even though he refused to wear the ears and insisted on wearing his rubber boots. Ben was a pumpkin. G was Garth from Wayne's World and I was a cow. Below are the pictures from our fun weekend.

Passed Out

This is Henry last night...fell asleep with his firefighter hat on...I HAD to take a picture of this. It was WAY too funny not to. This kid takes all kind of crazy stuff to bed with him...he gets up once we go downstairs. One night he had both his piggy banks in bed, another night he got his toothbrush...the list goes on and on!

Campfire

What a fun day at the Mohrmann house! It was a chilly, but very sunny day today. We started off the morning with G and his buddy from high school, Jarrett (Uncle Mikey), moving a piano....from our friends house to our house...pushing it...we live almost a mile from each other! I got some of it on video. It only took them about 15 minutes, which surprised me. The piano needs to be tuned, after the bumpy ride, but I can't wait to get it into our house! I can play, kind of. Christmas carols are about all I know, so maybe we'll get it from our garage to our house in time for some holiday singing on Andover Drive!

Henry continues to pee on the potty, no problem! Pooping on the other hand, well, let's just say we are working on that.

This afternoon, we took Henry (and Ben) to pick out a pumpkin to carve. We didn't go into the Pumpkin Land, just got a few pumpkins, and got to see what Henry will be getting to play on Friday. His school is having a Fall Festival at Pumpkin Land this Friday, so we are waiting until then for Henry to visit. I think he is going to enjoy it.

We went out to dinner, then came home and roasted marshmellows over our outdoor firepit. Henry LOVED it and kept talking about how he loved "campfires" and "camping." G and Henry were going to sleep outside in a tent, but then decided not too. Below are pictures from our campfire. Henry had his first S'More and of course, wanted to have about 5 more. Ben enjoyed being outside and I got him all bundled up. Thank goodness I saved all of Henry's clothes and had some warm hats for Ben. We are enjoying the fall weather here!

Potty

I am nervous about writing this, knowing as soon as I do I may jenks myself, but so far (knock on wood), Henry has been going pee & poop on the big potty! This is a MAJOR accomplishment and we have had a few accidents, but in the grand scheme of things, both G and I are VERY impressed. Henry LOVES his big boy underwear and still wears a diaper at night, which he throws a fit about, but he is still peeing lots at night. He may wear a diaper at night until he starts kindergarten! heeheehee. We went right from diapers to underwear...no pull ups. Our sitter, his teachers at school and several friends said not to mess with pull-ups, go right to diapers. It has worked for Henry. On Saturday we said, okay, we don't have any more diapers to wear during the day, so it's underwear time and he was excited and has peed everytime on the potty. Pooping has improved, and last night he was SO proud of himself for getting ALL the poop in the potty! (sorry to use poop and pee so many times in one post!) We are very proud of our little man. I was convinced that he wouldn't be trained until he was 5....he showed interest, then would not pee on the potty for a few weeks. Anyway, he is doing great and I hope writing about this does not jenks us!

Both Kids at 5 Months

Above, Henry at 5 months
Below, Ben at 5 months
I just realized that I took both their 5 months pictures in their crib! TOO weird!

5 Months Old

Hello everybody! I am 5 months old today! I know, I can't believe it either....I am growing up way too fast, I hear my Mommy say it all the time. Let's see, what is new with me? Well, I roll over from my tummy to my back and from my back to my tummy. I laugh out loud and my family discovered last night that I LOVE to have raspberries on my tummy. Henry gets me laughing and then we both can't stop. I love to watch my Turbo dog, but don't really like it when she licks my face all the time. I like to hang out in my bumbo seat and watch what's going on. The exersaucer thing is fun too, except when Henry tries to take over and make me play with something I don't want. I love to drool and my family things I am working on teeth...I have been drooling for a LONG time now people and so far no teeth! I have discovered that my hands can grab my feet and now I am trying to get them into my mouth. I love to get my feet caught in the slats of my crib at night when I should be sleeping. OH sleeping...my Mommy thinks I would rather eat than sleep and she is right. I have been SO hungry lately and waking up lots. I know I should sleep all night long, but for some reason, I get hungry! Last night I was up at 12:15, 3:15, and then again at 4. I never went back to sleep after 4, so my Mommy is kind of tired today. I was VERY cute at 4am, all smiles and giggles for her. Maybe I am growing and that is why I am eating a lot. I do wear 9 month clothes and am only 5 months old. I am really long and not as chubby as my big brother was at 5 months. My Mommy will have to post some pictures so you can see. Here are some pictures she took of me this morning. Our camera is slowly dying, so she doesn't think the pictures turned out too good. I think they are pretty cute, if I do say so myself! Thanks for checking on me!

Lots of love & slobbery kisses, Ben

Cute Kids

Every parent thinks their kids are cute....and if you have been following this blog, I fall into that category of parents...I think my kids are SOOOO darn cute and I take WAY too many pictures of them. Last week both Henry & Ben were looking cute, so I took some pictures of them. Ben rolls over in both directions now and loves to be on his tummy. He pushes up and just laughs out loud at Henry & Turbo. The last picture is of Henry...not looking happy, but it's the best one I got of him in his new outfit...from our Chinese neighbors...who we can hardly understand, but are SO nice and everytime they go back to China for a visit, bring stuff back for our kids. The camo patterns are different for the top & bottom. G and I couldn't figure out if the bottoms were pants or shorts, so we decided they must be capri pants. Henry wore this to the sitters the other day and no one quite knew what to take of his outfit. We think it's hilarious and someday Henry will look back on this picture and laugh. I think this is one outfit I am saving for sure!
