First Bath and other pictures

Ben had his first bath on Saturday May 24. Henry liked having his little brother in the tub with him and kept trying to give him toys to play with. Ben wasn't so crazy about his bath, but he tolerated it and was ready to get dry after getting clean! Oh and his umbilical cord fell off Friday night, at 10 days old! (Henry's took over 3 weeks to fall off.)

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! Henry wouldn't let me take the picture until he had lined up all of his cars.

Memorial Day Weekend

What a fun weekend for our boys! Uncle Max flew in from Portland to see Henry and meet little Ben. My parents also came in town and we took the boys to the zoo on Saturday. Ben slept the whole time and Henry LOVED seeing all the animals. Uncle Max took Henry on the carousel and Henry rode an elephant. G got more accomplished on our bathroom and now we just have to have the tile guy come and lay the tile, then we paint, put the toliet and sink back and we are in business! Henry got to help his Daddy paint (for about 2 minutes, then he was bored). We had a nice weekend, even though we had off and on rain and thunderstorms each day. We can't believe little Ben has only been with us for 2 weeks! He is such a good baby and Henry still loves his little brother.

This Morning

I took this picture this morning...Henry & Ben at breakfast. Henry LOVES to have his baby brother sit next to him while he eats. Ben was a GREAT baby last night and slept from 9:00pm to 2:40am! He is a very laid back baby and we are SO blessed that he is healthy and that Henry seems to love him just as much as we do.

Hospital Pictures

Ben has some pictures taken at the hospital on-line. Here is how to get there:
Go to http://www.our365.com/
Click on search by hospital
Enter May 13 and also St. Louis, MO for the city & state
Scroll down and click on St. John's Mercy Medical Center
Choose May 13 and click show all babies
Scroll down to find Baby M on May 13 (Ben didn't have a name for the first 24 hours!)
Then you can see his stats and also some pictures. Leave a message if you would like and I am going to print them off and put them into this baby book.

1 Week Old

Ben is one week old today...and today, May 20, was his due date.

Stella!!

On Friday May 16, we got to meet sweet Stella. She is so adorable and I am SO glad we finally got to meet her in person. Friends, Michael & Natalie adopted little Stella and FINALLY got to bring her home at the end of March. They were traveling through St. Louis and were nice enough to stop and visit for a little while. I am sad I didn't take more pictures, but we hope to see them again in June, when we are in Springfield.

Dr. Appointment

Yesterday Ben had his first doctor appointment to check his weight. He was down to 7lbs. 12oz. when we left the hospital. As of yesterday he was up to 8lbs! The doctor said his is a healthy little boy and we don't have to come back until he is 1 month. He eats ALL the time, which is how Henry was when he was little. I have to say that all 3 of my boys seem to be good eaters. So much for saving for college...food seems to be the priority at the Mohrmann house. Ben is getting into a little routine, eating every 2 hours during the day and then last night he stretched it to every 3 house. Henry is being a great helper and always wants to have his little brother by him. He is going to the sitter still, until we get a little more settled and until I can pick him up again. I am not suppose to pick up anything that weighs more than Ben in his carseat. Well, needless to say, Henry weighs A LOT more than that! Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

Henry Meeting Ben

Meeting Family

Ben got to meet LOTS of people on his birthday! Nana, Papa, Uncle Will, and Aunt Erin arrived from Arkansas around 3am and waited patiently in the hospital waiting room. Henry's Zee-Zee came over and stayed the night with Henry & Turbo when we left for the hospital on Monday night, so Zee-Zee brought Henry and great-grandma NoNo on Monday afternoon to meet Ben. Here are some pictures of everyone meeting Ben.

Ben's Name

Many people are wondering about Ben's name and how we came up with it. Well, here is the story. Gregg's first name is after a Vietnam POW. While we were cleaning out Henry's big boy room a few months ago, getting it ready for him to move into and keeping the nursery for the baby, we found the POW bracelet that had the name of the missing Marine. GREGORY BENTON, JR. is the name. I asked G if he liked the name Ben and he said, yes and I like Ben too, so we talked about naming the baby Benton and calling him Ben if it was a boy. What made it even weirder was that Gregory Benton Jr. went missing in May 1969...and we knew this baby was due in May. SO that is why his first name is Benton. August is a family name on G's side of the family. We went back and forth between a few names before deciding on his middle name. I think it fits our little guy.

Benton August Mohrmann

Baby #2 is FINALLY here! Baby Ben didn't have a name for the first 24 hours or so of his life...we were VERY tired and hungry and just ready to love him before picking out his name. Ben was born on Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 12:56 pm. He was 8lbs. 2oz. and 20 3/4 inches long. (Same length as Henry, and just 4 oz. smaller) Baby Ben took over 15 hours of laboring to arrive into the world...LONG story short, he was basically just waiting and made things VERY slow for Mommy...all of a sudden around noon on Tuesday I went from 5cm to ready to push in about 20 minutes. The epidural couldn't keep up. I felt EVERYTHING for around 30 minutes and G kept telling me I could do it and to be tough....oh it was hard and I am a BIG baby when it comes to pain, but I was tough and the epidural kicked in just as I started to push. I pushed a few times and was SOOOO tired I couldn't see straight and he came out! Here are a few pictures of our little Benton August Mohrmann!
Here he is! Baby Boy!

Mother's Day

Yesterday was a WONDERFUL Mother's Day for me! No little #2 yet, so it was my last official Mother's Day as only Henry's mom. We had a typical day around the house, which was nice before we turn into "crazy house" once the baby comes. G is making GREAT progress on the bathroom and has just a few pieces of drywall left to hang. Here are 2 pictures from yesterday...Henry & G watching CARS before church in the morning, then Henry & Mommy after church. I have my 39 week appointment today...we'll see what the doctor says today!

New Blog

Since we have baby #2 on the way, I will be posting pictures and updates on this site. Henry's blog is still up and active, if you want to check out his pictures. I can't even try to keep one up for him and also this new baby, so this will be our family blog. I won't post anything new on henrywilliammohrmann.blogspot.com but will keep it up so you all can take a look at how much he has grown!
