No More Tonsils

Yesterday was a very long day for all of the Mohrmanns. We started at 6:30 am with a train ride to Forest Park to play on the playground. Below is Henry climbing up the wall...he made it to the top!

Below is Henry on the Metro-Link train...he LOVED it and we thought it would be a good distraction for a boy who wakes up wanting to eat, but couldn't! His surgery wasn't until 11:40 and he only asked a few times for a snack. We gave him some juice in the morning, but after 7:15 even that wasn't allowed.

Here we are at the hospital...Henry & G waiting for the surgery to start. Henry loved watching TV and getting to change the channels. Notice Johnny Bear is in the picture...he got his tonsils out too.

After the surgery and in the room...the green arm thingy is covering the IV. That was the one thing he HATED when he woke up was having the IV in. He screamed about that for a long time, but overall, he did a good job waking up...he had 2 slushies before even leaving the recovery room!

We spent a few hours in a room and around 4pm Henry's Zee-Zee came and took Baby Ben with her. Ben was GREAT throughout this whole thing and pretty much ate & slept. After Ben & Zee-Zee left, the doctor came in and said if we wanted to, we could leave. We said we wanted too...G didn't really want to sleep in the hospital bed with Henry. We knew everyone would sleep better at home, so we were discharged around 6:15. Below you will see Johnny (with an ID bracelet on his neck), Ben, & Henry hanging out in the hospital bed.

We all survived last night...G slept with Henry up in his room and I was in our room with Ben. We had to wake Henry up every 4 hours to take the pain medication. The doctor said we have a better chance of him drinking stuff if we keep the medicine in him. So far, that has been the case. He has done a pretty good job of drinking and he even wants to eat some soft things. I just found him in the fridge, getting some jello and literally shoveling it into his mouth. Poor guy is starving! Thanks for all your prayers...keep them coming!

Poor little guy... we'll keep him in our thoughts through the recovery time!
