Ben is following in his big brother's footsteps. He is having his tonsils removed this summer. July 15 Ben will have his adenoid and tonsils removed as well as tubes put into his ears. We are getting it all done in one shot! He isn't hearing some sounds and therefore not making certain sounds when he talks. He has clear fluid sitting in his ears that we have tried to drain out (via Claritin and other things) but those have all failed. We saw Dr. Clary last week and are excited he will be doing the surgery. He is the same pediatric ENT that removed Henry's tonsils and adenoid in July of 2008.
Gregg and I (along with his mom and grandma) leave for Alaska on the 17th. We'll be gone for one week. My mom is the brave one who will have Henry and Ben while we are away. They will be going to Ohio to see family and have a little "cousin camp" with my cousin's kids and then down to Atlanta, GA where we will join them for my other cousin's wedding on June 26. WOW! Busy summer and it's just beginning!
I have enjoyed my first 4 days of break. The kids and I have been busy and I think they both enjoy having time with me and doing fun things. We went to Vacation Bible School at our church yesterday and today. Both of them seemed to really enjoy it and Henry was singing us some of the songs tonight at dinner.
On a side note, Ben is a snuggler....he still likes to be rocked before bed and wants me to hold him whenever he wakes up in the morning or after a nap. It's so sweet and I know that it won't last too much longer!
