The Mohrmann Family: Jack Thomas Mohrmann

Today our little #3 joined us! I was scheduled to be induced tomorrow (02.14.13, Valentine's Day) but our little guy had other plans. I started having contractions around 4am and they were pretty irregular, but they kept getting more intense. After getting Henry and Benton to school and going to Ash Wednesday Chapel, I came home to relax and have lunch. Gregg came home too, and decided to stick around and see if my contractions got any closer and maybe head to the hospital. Around 1:40pm my water broke!! We loaded up the car and headed to Mercy Hospital!

Gregg is hanging out in the new labor and delivery rooms. They are pretty fancy! Very large and brand new!

My view from the bed... when we arrived I was dilated to about a 3.5. I was still having irregular contractions so they started pitocin around 4 and I got the epidural around 4:45. By 6 I could feel the contractions so they had more medicine put in and it seemed to kind of help but I really felt like I needed to push. The nurse checked me, I was at an 8 and they called the doctor and started prepping the room for the baby's arrival. As we waited for the doctor on call to arrive, I could feel everything!! I really felt like I needed to push but they wanted to wait for the doctor. The doctor arrived, I pushed a few times and then the baby's heartrate dropped. They started giving me oxygen inbetween pushing. The doctor used the vacuum to help, then 2 more pushed and Baby Boy was born!!

At 6:53pm we met our newest little love!

He was nameless for about an hour, then we decided on

Jack Thomas Mohrmann

8lbs. 5oz. 21inches long

PERFECT!!

(Look closely and you can see where they used the vacuum on him. After about 30 minutes the dent was gone and within a few hours the red line was all gone too!)
