Ben is One

Since my littlest Mohrmann Man is one, I thought I would share what he has been doing. His party is tomorrow (Saturday) so I should have some picture to post later in the weekend.

* Ben walks...all.the.time. He no longer crawls. He gets faster & faster each day.

* Ben can go down one step...doesn't sound like a lot, but he knows that to step down from our back breezeway to the driveway, he has to turn around and go feet first.

* Ben talks and babbles a lot. He says & knows Mama & Dada. He attempts to say Do for dog and Ba for bottle. He also says Nana which makes my mom VERY happy.

* When Ben is hungry or wants something to eat, he hits his tummy and if I say, "Are you hungry?" He nods his head yes. If he wants more of something he puts his hand over his mouth like he is blowing kisses and and says "ahhhhh."

* Ben knows who is big brother is and laughs at him all.the.time. Whatever Henry is doing Ben will laugh at, or at least smile.

* Ben now faces forward in his big boy car seat.....well he has been facing forward since the beginning of the month, but don't tell on us. He is MUCH happier in the car now.

* Ben has 2 naps a day, one in the morning (about 1.5 - 2 hours) and one in the afternoon, usually from 12:30 - 3:00 or so.

* Ben goes to sleep at 7pm and sleeps until around 6:15 am. This morning it was after 6:30 that he woke up.

* Ben still uses a bottle, but NO MORE FORMULA! WOOHOOOO! He has been on whole milk for about 3 weeks now. I didn't want to buy another can of formula and the doctor said not to, just switch when the can runs out! So we did and he LOVES IT!

* Ben wears 18 month clothes. I am having to actually buy things since Henry's 18 month clothes are all winter ones.

* Ben has to take Zyrtec (is that how you spell it?) as he has a VERY runny nose and the doctor thinks it's related to allergies. The evening dose of 2 mL helps him greatly. We go to the doctor next Wednesday, so we'll see if we continue with the drugs.

* Ben loves all food and eats A LOT. Most meals he will consume more than Henry does and Henry is a GREAT eater. Pizza and mac & cheese are favorites along with grilled cheese, grapes, and bananas. Oh yogurt too...he loves yogurt.

* Ben has curls in the back of his hair that I am 100% in love with. I am taking him next week (when Henry gets his hair cut) to have Tara trim around his ears and other places. I am leaving the curls alone as they are SO sweet. Henry has straight hair, so these curls are wonderful. As Gregg says, "Curls for the girls."

* Ben does not like his bath right now...he used to LOVE it, but this week he has refused to sit down and screams during bathtime. SO, bathtime is VERY short, no playing, simply washing, rinsing, and getting OUT.

* Ben doesn't like me to rock him at night....just put him in his crib with his blanket and some books and about 15 minutes later he is out cold. We could have a dance party in his room & he would stay asleep....as long as the lights are off! I have found that turning on lights cause him to immediatley sit up in his bed and think it's morning time.

I will stop....I could go on & on, but that is enough. I love my little Benton, as if you couldn't tell.
