Dr. R called this afternoon....all of the blood work that was done on Ben has come back and of all the arthritis tests and tests measuring swelling and inflammation have come back NEGATIVE! Other tests (strep, mono, parvovirus, a few others I forgot) all came back NEGATIVE too! His white blood cell count is back to NORMAL and all of the other blood counts (once again forgot all she said) were NORMAL.
My two new favorite words....NEGATIVE and NORMAL!! We couldn't be more excited and thankful. Dr. R said she is pretty sure all of this is a result of an infection and/or the amoxicillin. Given that Gregg is allergic to penicillin and had a similar reaction (swelling feet) when he was younger, she feels that is the cause. We have a follow up appointment with our pediatrician, Dr. Z on January 27.
Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts. We are ready to return to NORMAL around our house....where everyone sleeps until at least 6:00am!! Thanks for checking in on Benton.
