One of my very best friends, Kelly, had a beautiful baby girl named Savannah in March. We finally made it to Kansas to meet her this last weekend. I have been wanting to snuggle with Savannah and catch up with Kelly and we were finally able to do so. Our visit was much too short, but I am thankful for the time we got to spend together.
We left for Olathe, KS around 8am on Saturday morning. The trip was going great and the kids were doing well, until around 9:00, they began fighting and playing tug of war with Ben's blanket. On June 28, Henry succeeded in dislocating a tendon in Ben's right elbow (nursemaid's elbow) and we had to go to the doctor to get it back into place. Well, Henry was successful in doing the same thing to Ben's left arm...in the car, as we are driving, still 3 hours from our destination! I called our doctor's exchange and talked to a nurse at Children's Hospital in St. Louis and she said it sounded like the same thing and if it was, we would have to get to a doctor to have his arm put back into place. SO, I called Kelly and she told us there was a pediatric urgent care place just down the street from their house. We arrived there at noon. Justin, Kelly, and Savannah met us and took myself and Henry back to their house. G took Ben into the doctor. Sure enough, it was nursemaid's elbow. Luckily, they didn't have to wait long and were at the Miller's house in time for lunch!
We had a delicious lunch with the Millers and I got to visit with Kelly. We took the kids to a farm near their house and Henry and Ben had a great time checking out all the animals. Around 4 they were getting cranky, so we loaded them up and headed to Pleasant Hill, MO to visit the Collins family.
Below are our pictures from the fun time with Savannah (and her Mommy & Daddy). We can't wait to see them again SOON! Ben and Henry loved getting to hold Savannah, as you will see.
