Already December

I can't believe that it's already December! We are getting all set at the Mohrmann house for Santa's arrival and more importantly, celebrating the birth of Jesus. Henry knows that Christmas is Jesus's birthday. We started the tradition of making a cake for Jesus on December 25 and singing him Happy Birthday. We put 2 candles on the cake, one for Henry and one for Ben. G and I really want our kids to understand there is more to Christmas than Santa and getting presents. I am trying to stress the GIVING of the season to Henry and letting him pick out presents for everyone with me. Tonight we start their Advent Calendars which countdown the days until Christmas.

It's getting cooler here and "they" are calling for snow! We have been listening to Christmas songs and the lights on the tree and around our house are on when we are home. I have always loved this time of year, but for some reason, it's even more special to me now that my kids (well one of them) are getting older and enjoying the season as well.

I know it's only December 1, but MERRY CHRISTMAS! What a wonderful time of year!
