Trail Run

Yesterday we went "over the river and through the woods" to Pere Marquette, IL. Every year for the past 3 years G has participated in a 7.5 mile trail run. He loves it and has so much fun. This year he did great! He got a time 2 minutes better than last year AND he won 3rd in his age group! The kids and I enjoy this race because you get to wait inside the lodge and not stand outside for an hour until the runners finish. Henry and Ben enjoyed the cookies and goodies they have for the runners.

After completing the race and showering, G left for an overnight camping trip with his college roommate, Sam. They got wet, but enjoyed their trip. The kids are glad to have Daddy back home today!

Family picture....yes Henry has a sword (stick) in front of his face. They only way he would stand with us for a picture was if he got to hold his sword! Yes, Ben is NOT wearing mittnes or gloves. He refuses to....must be the age, because I remember Henry doing the same thing.
