Memorial Day Runs

Today is Memorial Day. We are thankful for ALL the men and women who have fought for our freedom and especially those who are fighting today! We started off the holiday running...literally! I ran in a 10K race, then G ran in the 5K race followed by a kids 1 mile fun run. Henry (and Ben in the stroller) ran the fun run. We are SO proud of Henry for finishing the whole race! He got tired and complained his stomach hurt, but our little man didn't give up! And at the end, he didn't let an older (girl) beat him! Way to go HENRY!!

After lunch, showers, and naps, we drove down to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary to pay tribute to those service men and women who died for our freedom. We went with the Baclesse family to visit James' grave. (Shelly's brother James was in the Coast Guard and 3 summers ago died of cancer. He was just 27 years old.) After watching Shelly get soaked as she put flowers at her uncle and grandfather's gaves, we had a yummy pizza dinner.

We enjoyed our holiday weekend and hope you all did too!

Ready for the race!
